Hot Cocoa Chocolate Spoons are not only a wonderful homemade holiday gift when combined with a beautiful temp-tations mug, but they’re also super fun and easy to make – and a great holiday activity to do with the kiddies and grand kiddos 😉
The end result is a beautiful spoon that creates hot chocolate when stirred into hot milk!
What could be simpler than melting chocolate chips in a bowl in the microwave, dipping plastic spoons into the melted chocolate, and then refrigerating till firm. (By the way, I like using the kind of pretty holiday-colored spoons you’ll find at a party supply store – it just makes for a more festive gift.)
The “decorating” step in this recipe involves melting white chocolate chips in a bowl in the microwave until smooth. Then you simply dip a regular stainless steel spoon into the white chocolate and hold it straight down over the chocolate-coated spoons, allowing the melted white chocolate to drip and drizzle off the tip of the spoon. Move your spoon quickly back and forth, and you’ll create a thin white stripe over the chocolate-coated spoons. Move it more slowly, you’ll create a thicker white stripe. The great thing is, there’s no wrong way to do it – which makes it perfect for your little helpers’ hands!
